Dear Dmitry,
I think it could be either or both the housing and centerpiece. Of
course you can find out with a new centerpiece.
Desiccation will loosen the centerpiece in time. Cooling might also,
but I am not sure about that - it can't hurt to try and it will be quicker
than waiting for adequate desiccation. After an equilibrium run at 20 deg.
C, we have placed the cell in a refrigerator. After stirring the contents
and recentrifuging at 20 deg, the sample will leak out of the cell unless
the screw ring is retightened. I think this implies that the centerpiece
shrinks more than the housing, but I could be wrong.
