Open PostDoc Position

_____________________________________________________________________________

An open PostDoc position is available at the Colloid Chemistry Dept. of the
Max-Planck-Institute of Colloids and Interfaces in Golm/Potsdam near Berlin.

"STUDY OF SMALLEST NANOPARTICLES AND CRYSTAL GROWTH PROCESSES
WITH THE ANALYTICAL ULTRACENTRIFUGE"

The candidate should be a physical chemist or physical biochemist with
experience in Analytical Ultracentrifugation and interest in practical
work as the project needs systematic investigations as well as method
development and adaptation to the requirements of the specific crystal
system under study. Past work has shown that the Analytical Ultracentrifuge
can deliver particle size distributions with almost atomar reolution in
solution and this will be the starting point of the project for further
development. There are numerous other physicochemical techniques at hand
(light scattering, SEC, FFF, WAXS, SAXS, electron microscopy, atomic force
microscopy etc.) which can be used for supplemental information.

Experience in Analytical Ultracentrifugation is essential and experiences
with crystallization / crystal growth are helpful.

The position is a 1 years contract with the possibility of an extension for
a second year.
