sedimentation of unfolded proteins

Hi all,

we have a biochemically active protein that sediments with a frictional
ratio of 2.0 thus we suspected it to be unfolded. Indeed addition of 6M
Guanidiniumchloride did not change the sedimentation properties (except for
the contributions of viscosity and density which were corrected for).

My question to all out there now is:

Has anyone experience with the sedimentation behaviour of unfolded proteins
?
Is there a way to predict sedimentation (and diffusion) coefficients ?
May it be possible to detect residual folding of a protein by sedimentation
analysis ? (I suspect the 6M GuaHCl test to be rather crude)
