Sednterp 2

Dear RASMBers-
John Philo and I are setting out on putting together the next version of
Sednterp, and we are soliciting ideas for inclusion in the next release.
Aside from a facelift to organize the program better, we are considering
the following additions:

1- Support for nucleic acid vbars. I will need you help on gathering data
for this- the high charge on nucleic acids makes their vbars dependent on
both salt concentration and salt type.
2- Calculation of vbar from atomic structure.
3- Redoing the 'Conjugates' table to simplify it and make it clear what it
is for.
4- Estimation of dn/dc from solvent/solute properties
5- Allowing data from multiple experiments to be used in the calculations
of shape
6- S vs. c extrapolation to get So
7- Updated help files to cover the new topics.
8- A web-hosted site to compile/disseminate user-supplied data.

We are not sure time and resources will allow us to do all of this. We are
interested in knowing which items you feel should have the highest
priority, and wondering if there are items we have forgotten.

Send your e-mail to me- John has enough to do! We will keep everyone posted
on the changes... be patient, though, I expect that it will take 12-18
months to get the next version ready. The work has to get sandwiched
between our day jobs.
Best wishes,
Tom
