monomer-dimer equilibrium

Hello,

I am looking for an example of a reversible monomer-dimer equilibrium (or
higher order oligomer) with fast on-off rates such that without a complete
set of experiments (in our case, samples with varying pH), one might only
detect an intermediate species.
