new sedfit version
Dear RASMBers
A new version (3.2) of sedfit is now available for download from the RAMSB
ftp-site (ftp://rasmb.bbri.org/rasmb/spin/ms_dos/sedfit-schuck/), of from
Borries Demeler's ultracentrifugation website
http://www.cauma.uthscsa.edu/software.
The software is free, runs on Windows 95 or NT and allows direct and fast
fitting of numerical Lamm-equation solutions to sedimentation velocity
data. It has models for non-interacting (up to 4 components),
monomer-dimer, and monomer-trimer systems. Data can be absorbance or
interference, using explicit noise decomposition techniques for direct
analysis of interference data (avoiding differencing of data).
The most important changes from the last version are:
1) the algebraic time-invariant noise and jitter elimination features are
now available for the selfassociation models
2) faster fitting through an adaptive grid, and improved switching between
Claverie and moving grid finite element methods
3) It can be used (bug was fixed) to save the calculated time-invariant
noise profile from the approach to equilibrium and subtract it from
equilibrium interference scans.
4) It now allows editing of the list of files included in the analysis
Besides other features, it has a extensive integrated help system that
describes in detail all features and how to use them. A second readme file
(update32.txt) lists more details on the changes that have been made.
Please let me know if you have any problems in using it,
Best regards
Peter
