This problem should also effect other packages that read the files and use
t.   Does it?

Many of us experienceed the same problem soon after getting our
instruments - the problem was fixed by changing the eproms - ask Beckman to replace
or upgrade your eproms - I presume you have a very old set since this
problem dates back to 94!!
