HYDRO / SOLPRO

Dear RASMB colleagues,

For those of you who are interested in hydrodynamic modeling, there are
some news about our computer software for bead models, HYDRO, SOLPRO and
related programs.

HYDRO has been internally re-programmed and it now runs many times faster
than the old version.

A new version of SOLPRO considers many solution (hydrodynamic and
equilibrium) properties: transient birefringence, anisotropy decay,
scattering functions, 2nd virial coefficient etc. For more details.
please
see: European Biophysics Journal 28, 119-132 (1999).

It is now understood that “bead-modeling” is a broad concept that
includes
different modeling methodologies: bead models in strict sense, shell
models, etc.; please see: Biophysical Journal 76, 3044-3057 (1999). We
have
written several computer programs that may assist in the process of
building various types of models.

We are glad to make all these programs freely available; they can be
downloaded from our web site, where you may find more details and
information.

Best regards from Murcia, Spain

Jose.
