Dear David,
Unless the system is frozen (i.e NOT in rapidly reverisble
equilibrium), any fitting of gaussians will be meaningless. In the case of
rapidly reversible system, the boundary is called a "reaction boundary" and
cannot be resolved into individual species.
However, if it is frozen, the areas under the peaks are the
equilibrium concentrations.
