Re: XL-I problems

Hi,
a word of caution for Beckman software and Windows95:

running XL-A 3.0 under Widows95 might run you into problems, too. In
my experience in the beginning of a run everything looks fine but
there are situations when the centrifuge will not communicate
correctly with the software resulting in a COM devive error and the
programm will quit doing any further scans. This usually happens with
overnight runs 5 Minutes after I leave the lab. We were told by our
Beckman technician that the sofware definitely will not run under
Windows95 and thus had to resort to using DOS and Win3.11 for proper
operation.

Since we would really like to operate our XL-A under Windows95 I
would appreciate any comments of other RASMBers

Best wishes
