Marcus,

In my experience, leakage with skinny centerpieces can be a major problem if the
faces of the centerpiece are not lapped properly - though this is not an easy
problem to fix!!! Try coating the faces with a thin layer of vacuum grease. If
all else fails maybe you could try tightening the screw ring a little more.
