Partial Specific Volume of Myristoyl group

Hi,
I have a protein which has a myristoyl (14-carbon fatty acid
deriviative) on the n-terminal end. The protein itself is 41K with a
calcualted Vbar of 0.73. The only way I obtain a molecular wt. in
this range from equilibrium data is with a Vbar around 0.77. Does
anyone know what the contribution of this hydrophobic group is to the
protein's Vbar? Thanks for the help.
