I also don't see much utility for creating a repository of raw sedimentation
data. I do agree with John Philo that a repository of buffer densities,
viscosities, and in particular, vbars would be useful. We routinely measure
solvent densities. However, we generally don't have enough protein to
accurately measure vbars so we must calculate them from amino acid
composition. It would be good to have more experimental data available,
especially for proteins in buffers containing constituents that perturb
protein solvation such as glycerol.
