XLA Bibliography on RASMB

Hello RASMB Subscribers,

A new XL-A bibliography is now available to interested practitioners
of analytical ultracentrifugation. The bibliography was prepared by
Beckman Instruments and is arranged by subject categories, then by
first author within the subject groups. The twelve subject categories
are:

Binding Studies and Complexes
General Studies
Glycoproteins
Lipoproteins
Miscellaneous Samples (including peptides)
Nucleic Acids
Proteins: Enzymes
Proteins: Receptors
Proteins: Other Proteins
Proteoglycans
Synthetic Polymers
Viruses

Each reference is followed by a brief annotation that summarizes some
of the experimental detail and includes the address of one of the
authors.

This document resides in the RASMB directory. It can be accessed
through Netscape by typing:

http://bbri-www.eri.harvard.edu

or directly

ftp://bbri.eri.harvard.edu/rasmb/xla_refs.txt
which can be retrieved and viewed using a word processing program

Accessing the document through Mosaic will be possible following some
server fixes.

This bibliography will shortly be available on Beckman Instruments
home page:

http://www.beckman.com

Attached (saved as an asc II text file) are the journals that were
reviewed in the preparation of the bibliography. In addition to
reviewing these journal, there is also an online data base search for
AUC references. Beckman hopes to update this bibliography every 5 to 6
weeks.

Since this is a first pass, we made certain assumptions and took
certain liberties in putting this bibliography together. The question
is how did we do? I hope you will contact me (at the above address
with any suggestions or comments on improving this document. One
comment has already come across that suggests including articles (XL-A
or Model E) that are so well written or cover a methodology so
thoroughly that they warrant extra attention (kind of a recommended
top 10 list, maybe as a separate category)

That's all for now

Paul
