Absorbance and stray light

Hi Joachim,

It sounds as though the stray light effects are masquerading as nonideality!
We have not yet seen this, because we have persisted in measurements at 280 nm
out of habit. Only recently have we realised we can improve signal-noise by
selecting a wavelength appropriate to concentration. It is something to beware!

It might be worth checking stray light with the nitrate solutions, up to an
absorbance of 2.0. But that won't take account of the wavelength dependence of
the stray light.
